Zurich Awards.....
MHD SHORTLISTED FOR PROPERTY AWARD A Yorkshire property company is celebrating the completion of its latest development with the news that the project has been nominated for a prestigious industry award. MHD has been shortlisted for the annual Zurich Customer First Awards, sponsored by Zurich Municipal insurance. The York-based company was nominated for its new build project at Clifford near Wetherby, consisting of four luxury homes which are all already sold. The houses are constructed of a timber frame clad with traditional stone, which was specially designed to blend with adjacent period buildings. However, particular attention had to be paid to the layout of the development as it is close to a stream which presents a flood risk. The surrounding area had to be carefully landscaped to enable it to hold water and prevent flooding. A challenge now facing many builders with the onset of climate change. The houses are finished to the very highest standard and have generated many favourable comments from visitors and property industry professionals alike. Innovative design throughout has been sympathetically executed to give a modern and ecologically sound finished product, combining the best of both traditional and cutting-edge craftsmanship. Andrew Beadnall of estate agent Beadnall & Copley, which marketed the properties, said "In 35 years in the property business I cannot recall ever seeing a one-off new-build development of such high quality, the design really complements the setting around the village green. During our open viewing weekend prospective buyers were extremely impressed by the attention to detail in the finish. Every viewer told me they were the best modern homes they had ever seen, which speaks volumes!" Managing Director Mark Nelson will manage the next stage, which consists of the conversion of a group of outbuildings on the same site, one of which is an ancient barn dating from the year 1663. Three further homes will be developed, all in keeping with the original period appearance. Mark says "We feel we offer a bespoke service that is still in demand, even in the current market conditions".
